Create a Form - Selection List

Use Selection List to insert a list from which the user can select items.

To add a Selection List:

The Select Properties box has the following options:

  1. Click on the Selection button on the Forms Toolbar.
    Or, access the Insert menu and select Selection from the Forms sub menu.
    The Select Properties box is displayed.

  2. The Selection Properties box has the following options:
    1. Name:
      Specify a unique name for this selection. This name is used in the CGI program to refer to this element. Web Factory provides a unique name that you or the CGI programmer can change.
    2. Size:
      Type the number of lines of text that will be displayed at one time. This number can be fewer than the total number of lines provided in the selection list. If only part of the list is displayed at once, scroll bars will appear.
    3. Multiple selections:
      Select this option if you want to allow the user to choose more than one item on the list.
    4. Contents:
      Type each of the list items that will be available to the user in this selection. To insert a line break for the next item, press Ctrl+Enter.

  3. Click OK.
    The selection area is displayed in the form.

  4. To add another list item to the selection, choose Select Option from the Forms sub menu. After choosing Select Option, type the text of the list item to be added.
